covid-19 testing and waste disposal
Lancashire Environmental Services (LES) is supporting Northwest businesses with the collection and disposal of waste associated with the Coronavirus pandemic. This includes infectious waste which may be contaminated or potentially contaminated with Covid-19 and waste from local testing and vaccinations programmes.
hOW SHOULD COVID-19 WASTE BE STORED?
Waste from Covid-19 such as test kits, swabs, aprons, masks and general infectious waste bags in residential households can be placed in their general waste bins. However, tests and waste produced at businesses, schools, community centres, and healthcare settings has to be managed differently. The waste must be segregated out into dedicated containers or sacks and sent for specialist disposal.
HOW CAN LES HELP?
Our expert team will guide and advise you through the complex clinical waste legislation. We are a local family business and are here to support our customers manage and dispose waste compliantly at an affordable price.

A number of waste facilities are at capacity due to the rising volume of waste caused by the pandemic.
